Registration for 2009-2010
Have you registered for the 2009-2010 year in youth ministry? THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO REGISTER THIS YEAR. The first way is how we have always had registration. Fill out a paper form and turn in your form and check into the parish office. The second way is to turn register online. Go to zionsvillecatholicyouth.com and click on the picture of the clock. If you have any questions about registration please call the parish office. We have sent out registration packets in the mail that should include volunteer forms and CALENDARSfor the year.
YM Parent Meeting
All Parents are expected to attend our parents meeting on August 29th at 6:30 pm in the Parish Hall. It will be efficient and fun and that’s a promise! See you there!
J-FEST Retreat
J-Fest is a fall diocesan retreat to kick-off the youth ministry year. Hundreds of students from around central Indiana come to hear a national keynote speaker and band. In additon J-Fest offers workshops and break-out groups for students to share and expand their faith. J-Fest also celebrates the sacraments through reconciliation, adoration, and Masses. The theme for J-Fest 2010 is LOST and features keynote speaker Mike Patin (a regular speaker at ND Vision), musical artist Sarah Bauer, and our own Youth Minister, Paul Sifuentes at emcee. The retreat is September 10-12 at St. Louis De Montfort. Registration can be found on the web or on the youth board.
Matt Maher Concert
We are taking a trip to see Matth Maher in concert with the band Tenth Avenue North on September 18th. All high school youth are welcome. We will be leaving from St Alphonsus at 3:30 pm and returning at 12 am. Permission slips can be found online and on the youth board. (Freshman who are interested in going will be leaving directly from the SPARK confirmation retreat.
H.S. Bible Study
What is Gods saying to you? Please join us on Tuesdays in the St. Agnes room from 5:45- 6:45 to break open God’s Word.
Catechists for Next Year
As we collect registrations this year, we are in need for catechists this year. We especially need catechists in 9th grade (first year of Confirmaiton) Catechists work in teams to lead our youth through lessons each Sunday night. Please pray and consider who you think has a gift of teaching and pass their names on to Paul or let Paul know if you feel God is calling you to help. Remember “Christ has no body now but yours” so we need your hands and feet to help us teach the mysteries that our God and Church has revealed to all of us. Check online and the youth ministry board for catechist position description.
